6033 - Hit and Run, Boonton

On October 12, 2006 at 0745 hours, a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle on Maple Avenue, in Boonton. The 17 year old Boonton High School student had just parked her vehicle on Maple Avenue and was exiting it. The door was open and as she was exiting the vehicle, she was struck in the side of the head possibly by the mirror of the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle is described as a black car with dark tinted windows possibly a Mercedes or, similar type vehicle. This vehicle should have damage to the passenger side, possibly the fender, door and mirror. Witnesses stated the suspect vehicle sped away immediately after impacting the victim and her vehicle. Last seen heading south on Maple Avenue, towards Lathrop Avenue. The victim was transported by ambulance to St. Claire’s Hospital with what appeared to be a injury to her head.
