On
7/8/14 at approx. 9:00 pm a 17 year old female was walking on Martin Luther King Ave
(near Pollos Pucular) with her mother.
At this time a black male began to "hit on her" and asked if
he could walk her home. The 17 year old
ignored the suspect's comments therefore the suspect attempted to touch or grab
the 17 yr old, the mother intervened and stepped in front of her daughter, the
male then grabbed the mother by the arms and pushed her to the ground. The male then ran southbound on Martin Luther King Ave.
towards Morristown . Above suspect is described as a black male in
his late 20’s or early 30's, approx. 5’9’’, slim build, wearing a gray hooded
sweatshirt, blue jeans and sneakers. Morris
Twp PD is also investigating an attempted robbery/purse snatching in the same
neighborhood which occurred on 6/29/14, similar description to above suspect,
unknown if it is the same individual at this time.
