#11018 Vehicle Theft Denville
On Sunday 11/13/2011, members of the Denville Police responded to a neighborhood in the Indian Lake section of town for a report of multiple motor vehicle burglaries. During the investigation it was learned that approximately 20 vehicles were entered with numerous belongings taken including U.S. currency, wallets, GPS units, and a camera. The vehicles that were entered were left unlocked. The incident occurred sometime between the hours of 02:00 am and 07:00 am. The neighborhood specifically targeted was Beech St, West Shore Rd, and South Shore Rd. The Denville Police would like to remind citizens that thefts from unlocked vehicles are common. Actors will target neighborhoods and parking lots checking for unlocked vehicles to steal from. The police encourage you to secure your vehicles and homes and to contact the police with any suspicious behavior.
